For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb 4:15-16)
STREET PROJECT
Our Street Project focuses on those who, for various reasons, are unable to be involved in standard programs. Generally, this means that we work with those who have made bad decisions in the past (resulting in criminal charges that bar them from standard programs) or those that are still making bad decisions and are trapped in addictive behavior.
Every Sunday, we prepare and deliver around 40 meals to several of the "unofficial" homeless camps in Pinellas County. As a result of this ministry, several people have attended church services and many mentoring opportunities have arisen. We have also been privileged to see one person trust Christ as their Savior, and two follow in baptism. We also provide clothing, toiletries, and other items, as God supplies. Recently, we began serving many in this same community at a program run by Vineyard Church of Clearwater, every Thursday.
Another, project has allowed us to offer a weekly worship service on Sunday, and a bible-study on Monday. Most of these worshippers are unable to attend traditional services, for a variety of reasons. Since this group is also economically challenged, the Sunday service is preceded by a free meal, and we have pizza every Monday night for bible study! It has been our distinct honor to provide a way for them to fellowship, corporately. If you would like to know more about this project, please contact us.
